Login
to “TAKS Grade 05 Writing” and select “Start
Assignment” under the File Menu. Click OK on
the Session Report. |

On
any screen, hold down the control key while clicking
on the screen. |

|
|
|

In
the dialog box that appears, type in a quick note.
Click on OK. |

Observe
the small icon that looks like a piece of paper. |

Click
on the icon of the piece of paper to see your note

2: Answer a Writing Prompt. |

Select “Question
. . .” under the Goto Menu.

Scroll
down to the bottom of the list and click
on any writing prompt to select it. Click
on OK.

Read
the writing prompt and click on the Write your
essay button.

Type
some text in the Free Response window. Click
on OK.

Part
3: Log out and Print the Writing Prompt Response.

Select “Logout” from
the File menu. The “Open Ended Answers” window
should appear containing the text you typed in Part
4. |

|
|
|
|
|
2. |
Examine
the Open-Ended Answers window. As a teacher, you can
add comments to this window by clicking anywhere in
the window and typing. Click on the Print button. |

|
|
|
|
3. |
Click
on the OK button to close the window. Click on the
OK button on the Session Report. |

4: Access the Calculator |

Log
in to “TAKS Grade 05 Reading.” Click
on the Yes button. On any screen, hold down
the shift key while clicking on a piece of
text. Note that a small blue highlight appears.

|
2.
|
Shift-click
on the same spot again to turn the highlight
yellow, and a third time to turn it pink.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
3.
|
Shift-click
on the highlighted block again to remove the
highlight.

5: Preview Reading Questions.

|
Select
Preferences . . . from the Edit menu. |

Click
on the Access tab. Select Preview Questions in the
upper window. |

Type
a 3 in the Value field. Click on the Save button. Click
on the OK button. |

Log
out and log back in to “TAKS Grade 05 Reading.” The
questions and their answer choices should now precede
the passage. |

6: Create a Feedback file. |

Hold
down the shift and command (Mac)/control (Windows)
keys and click on the letter F. |
| |
|
|
|
| |
|
2. |
Type
text in the feedback window that appears. Click on
OK. |

|

| |
|
3. |
Select
Logout from the File menu. |
| |
|
| |
|
4. |
If
possible, look in your Sleeksit folder. You should
see a file named feedback.txt which you can email
to support@sleek.com. |

7: Use Alternate Titles |

At
Incredible Tutor™ Login screen, type the
teacher password in the password field. (See your manual
for teacher password.) |

Click
on the Set IT! Up button. |
| |
|
|
|
| |

Scroll
down in the list of On or Off Preferences. Find the
Preference Use Alternate Title Name. |

Click
to the left of the Preference to make a blue dot appear.
Click on the OK button. Click on Yes. |

|
5. |
Click
once on the Stand-Alone button. Notice that grade levels
have been replaced by colors in the list of titles. |
