See Math Examples

  1. Log into any Math title.

  2. Notice the problem that appears on the screen. Then click on the Example button in the blue bar at the top of the screen.

  3. A problem similar to the one you saw previously will appear (with different numbers and different names or objects), however it will also include a brief explanation of how to solve the problem. You can continue to click on the Example button to see more examples. Because our math problems are Algorithm-Based™, you can continue to receive almost endless examples.

  4. Click on the Back to Problem arrow to return to the original problem.

Enabling the Calculator

  1. In any Math title, Choose Preferences from the Edit menu. Click on the Access tab.

  2. Select the Preference "Enable Calculator" from the bottom window. If a blue dot appears to the left of the Preference name, the calculator is already enabled. If not, click to the left to make the blue dot appear.

  3. Click on the Save button, then on the OK button.

  4. Choose Calculator from the Windows menu or hit Control-C (Windows) or Command -C (Macintosh) to bring up the calculator.

Answering Gridded-Response Questions

  1. In any Math title, some math problems will have a grid for entering responses.

  2. Click on the circled numbers to enter them in the boxes.

  3. Click on the Submit button to enter as the final answer, or click on Clear to erase the entry and start over.

Using the Ruler

  1. In any Math title, some math problems will have a ruler for measurement problems.

  2. In a measurement problem, click on the Ruler button. The on-screen ruler will appear. The ruler can be dragged with your mouse, or nudged up, down, right, and left using the arrow buttons on the ruler. The ruler can be rotated in 90 degree increments to the left or right using the rotate buttons. To close the ruler, click on the red X button.
